This is the second deck that I have had an idea for, for over half a year and I have made it now, even though the deck has not been made to the specifications I wanted, it still works just as well.
The main idea of this deck is to cost as little as possible.
‘Phyrexian Walker’, ‘Ornithopter’ and ‘Memnite’ all cost 0 to cast. With these in your opening hand you can cast a cheap equipment card to get you powered up as quick as possible. If you had more than one of them in the opening hand, then you are up on the game straight away.
I have also put this in my deck, ‘Soul Foundry’.
Now if you imprint ‘Phyrexian Walker’, ‘Ornithopter’ or ‘Memnite’, this means you would get a free creature each turn but I have plenty of others that may just be a better option depending how the game pans out.
‘Darksteel Myr’ is indestructible, therefore builds a very strong defence line and with all the Equipment in the deck, a strong smasher.
‘Vault Skirge’
Now with this imprinted, you could probably afford to pay the 2 life, then the 2 swamps; because it has a life link, equipment will pay for itself.
By now you can tell this deck is an Equipment heavy deck and; with equipment decks you need to include ‘Myr Adapter’. It gets real big, real fast.
Speed is the aim with this deck, so I have kept all Equipment to 2 mana or under. Even the Equipment costs only creep up to 3 mana being ‘Slagwurm Armor’.
Equipment you need in an Artefact deck: ‘Cranial Plating’.
Other treats I put into this deck:
‘Trespassing Souleater’ Either 2 islands or 2 Life, and this becomes unblockable. Now you won’t want to pay 2 lives every time, but if you power it up to finish off your opponent then 2 lives of yours won’t bother you.
‘Darksteel Sentinel’ Costs 6 mana but if you’ve got this card and some big trouble is coming your way whack it into play to defend because he is indestructible. Power him up for some pay back, and if you still don’t finish them off then don’t worry because he has Vigilance to defend during the next turn.
‘Wurmcoil Engine’ 6/6, Deathtouch and Lifelink all cost 6 mana too, if it gets put in the graveyard you then get two 3/3’s, one with Deathtouch and one with Lifelink so the stings keep coming.
'Golem Foundry’ This is MTG’s version of Nectar points. How? Well when you shop in Sainsbury’s you get collect nectar points every time you spend. With this card you spend mana casting artefacts which then gives you charge counters, you then spend these on a 3/3 colourless Golem artefact creature. This can save your skin because there are more Equipment cards then creature cards in this deck, so there is a chance you might not draw a creature for a long time.
‘Wirefly Hive’ is a bit of a wild-card. If there isn’t a lot going on in the game you should try your luck at getting a vast amount of Wirefly.
