I realise I’m quite late in
blogging about this, so you’ll have to bear with me as I can’t remember the
events of the night exactly. The main thing to remember though is James’ utter
take over in every game.
At this gathering, Pete
introduced us to a new format; A Zombie horde deck. For the rules of this,
visit: http://deckboxnoob.blogspot.co.uk/2012/07/horde-rules.html
So we went ahead and gave it our
best shot. During the first game we were taken out within the second turn. With
15 2/2 zombie tokens out on the hordes first go, and they have haste. Half of
our life count was gone before we had laid any defence.
The second game looked like it
was going to be better as we decided to increase our life count by 20, but that
just took us to the third turn. Not a great improvement.
We thought we would give it one
more shot, but we laid down all of the land that was in our opening hand before
our first go; this gave us the advantage we needed to win.
So what have we learnt from this
brief overview?
Well, as is the same with the
Archenemy games, three players are simply not enough to overthrow this deck. As
such the next time we play the horde, I’m going to use an Archenemy deck to try
and even out the odds.
